Devonport Rotary and St. Leo`s RC School lend a helping hand. Eleven year old Cable Abel is a very lucky boy. Cable was born with a hole in his heart. ROMAC stepped in to give the young Vanuatuan a healthy future.
At the recent Norfolk Island Conference, Devonport Rotary after hearing of the 300+ children that have been helped decided it was their turn to get involved. As a result Devonport has been hosting Cable and his Grand dad ,Frank while Cable has major heart surgery at Starship Hospital paid for by ROMAC.
Following Cable`s successful operation and after weeks of unfamiliar sights the pair are now homesick. To help, St. Leo`s RC school, working with Devonport Rotary have taken Cable under their wing. Cable has made many new friends of his age.
President Colin Cannon, says ” All of our member have taken Cable to our hearts we have found hosting Cable an enriching experience”
