1. Devonport Rotary has supported one Takapuna Grammar School student with an $800 donation and facilitated another to the Rotary National Science & Technology Forum at Murawai in January next year. We have supported a further student with another $800 donation to the corresponding event in Canberra. This event is a 2 week live-in experience with the participants being exposed to science and technology in industry and universities.
2. Devonport Rotary is supporting the Rotary Challenge Camp, a week-long event where independent disabled 16 to 24 year olds are supported by Rotary International Youth Exchange students from other countries for a live-in week of events.
3. Devonport Rotary is supporting a Carmel College student with a $500 donation for her participation in Rotary’s Australia/New Zealand Student Exchange. This happens next year where our student will join her Australian colleague for the 2nd term of schooling in Australia before both return for the 3rd term in New Zealand.
4. Devonport Rotary has awarded a $2,000 scholarship to a Takapuna Grammar student for study at AUT University next year. The recipient’s family are recent immigrants to New Zealand from SE Asia and though permanent residents have not been in New Zealand long enough to qualify for support in tertiary education. That will resolve in a year so the support is required for the first year only.

Coming up Devonport Rotary is planning to support a participant in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards in April next year, the Rotary Model United Nations Assembly debates in May next year and the Science and Technology Experience, a 2 day event in July next year.
