Devonport Rotarians Roy and Tina followed an invitation by the Devonport-Takapuna local board to provide input to the next three-year-plan.
The invitation had gone out to people and community organisations who have a connection with Devonport, Belmont, Bayswater, Hauraki Corner, Takapuna, Milford, Forrest Hill, Sunnynook. All were invited to comment on what is proposed for the latest local board plan.

The plan has five major outcome areas:

  1. Quality parks, beaches and open spaces that everyone can enjoy
  2. A place of natural beauty and rich culture
  3. Efficient public transport and roads that keep people moving
  4. Communities that are empowered, engaged and inclusive
  5. Areas that have thriving local economies and vibrant, unique town centres

Many different aspects were addressed during a very productive meeting. Among them were the Devonport iSite and the desire for heritage trails in Devonport, two of the many projects our club is involved in.
